Mindfire Entertainment, producers of the $12 million vid game movie "House of the Dead" have optioned theatrical/TV rights to Drakulon's "Vampirella" from Harris Publications.
Mindfire president/chief operating officer Mark Altman says the $20 -$25 million R-rated "VAMPIRELLA" feature film is expected to go into production early next year for a theatrical release as early as fall 2003. Mindfire partners Altman, Dan Bates and Mark Gottwald will serve as producers of the film, and no screenwriter has yet been attached.
"Vampirella' is even edgier than 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and has the potential to be an excellent and smart horror film thanks to its well-rounded characters and built-in comic book audience," Altman said
